Biography – Kyoko Suzuki

Artist Statement

What draws us to certain things—colors, shapes, forms—often comes from a place beyond reason.
My work begins in this space of instinct and emotional resonance.
Mushrooms, a symbol rooted in childhood memory, have become central to my practice—transformed into reflections of unseen emotional forces.
In nature, fungi play a quiet but essential role beneath the surface, sustaining life without recognition.
To me, this mirrors the role of love: invisible, yet nurturing and deeply vital.
Through my sculptures, I aim to give form to that presence—an emotional grounding that gently connects us to ourselves and each other.

Born in Japan

Resides and works in Tokio, Japan

Education

Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Textile Design.
